The Panorama Panthers girls soccer team is moving on to the next round of Class 1A Region Three competition after securing a victory over the Kuemper Catholic Knights on Wednesday.
The Panthers girls were playing for the right to move on in Class 1A Region Three play when they took on the Kuemper Catholic Knights on Wednesday, which was a team they had not yet faced this season. The Panthers girls soccer team was able to put up one goal in the first half and another goal in the second half while holding the Knights to one goal to win 2-1 and move on to the next round.
The Panthers girls soccer team is moving on to the next round of the postseason where they will now be taking on the Des Moines Christian Lions. The Lions find themselves in the next round after a mercy rule victory in the first round of play.
The Panthers girls have faced off against the Lions once this year where they fell by a score of 10-0 earlier in the year. The Panthers girls are coming in with a record of 10-5 on the season while the Lions are coming into the match with a record of 16-1 with their lone loss coming against Carlisle early on in the year.
If the Panthers are able to secure a win over the Lions next week they will earn the right to play in the Class 1A Region 3 Championship game which would take place on May 26th to crown a region champion.
The Panthers girls soccer team will be heading to Des Moines Christian High School in Urbandale to take part in the next round of Class 1A Region Three soccer beginning at 6 p.m. May 24th as the Panthers girls will be looking to get another win and move on once again in the postseason.
