It’s National Police Week and it’s a time to highlight those that serve in their local police departments.
Jefferson Police Chief Mark Clouse says they are a strong department of eight, including two female and six male officers.
“I’m real happy with the group that we’re working with. They are community-oriented, community-minded group and that’s obviously what we’re looking for, especially here in Jefferson. They’re not afraid to do their job and on the flip side of that they like to get out and just be with the public.”
Clouse adds that while it’s been a struggle to remain a fully staffed department, he believes he has some of the best officers in the department that all work together and do other things in the community. National Police Week is May 15th-21st.
