The recent rains have brought with them a reminder of the code of ordinance for the City of Perry regarding mowing the lawn. 

The City of Perry reminds its residents that grass, weeds or brush should be cut, mowed and maintained so that it does not exceed 8 inches in height. The height limit for residential, business and industrial areas is 8 inches and agricultural areas aren’t to exceed 15 inches.  For vegetation that is at or above eight inches it is considered a public nuisance. 

The City may decide to mow properties that are not in compliance by the first and third Wednesday of the month during May through October and the owner will be billed for the cost of the service.
