The Dallas County Republican Party hosted a meet and greet Tuesday at the Hotel Pattee which featured various candidates for positions throughout Dallas County.
The meet and greet event featured candidates for the Third Congressional District including Zach Nunn, Gary Leffler and Nicole Hasso and local Dallas County candidates including Dallas County Attorney Chuck Sinnard and candidate for Dallas County Recorder ReNae Arnold and candidates for Iowa House District 46. Chair Kelley Koch says events like these are important to helping voters be informed in Dallas County ahead of the June 7th primary election.
“It’s a number one goal, since being chair we’ve made a commitment to look at the whole Dallas County, look at all the communities and see how can we come to them instead of always having them come to us.”
Koch tells Raccoon Valley Radio it’s also important for people to come out and meet their local county candidates as well as those who may be running to positions that spend time in Washington D.C.
“People like me, other people they want to know who is paying their taxes, who is going to actually file that report, who is going to be the treasurer, who is going to be the recorder.”
Koch says she feels more people are paying attention to elected positions from things such as the school board and on down the ballot.
