The Panorama Panthers girls and boys track and field teams headed out Monday for their last regular season track meets before they take part in the state qualifying meet this week.

The Panorama Panthers girls track and field team headed to Martensdale St. Mary’s where they were able to grab a fifth place finish in a field of eight teams with an overall score of 73. The Panthers girls were able to score points from 14 different track and field athletes.

Leading the way was Arilyan Steenblock who netted 18.5 points on the day including a first place finish in the discus with a distance of 112 feet 6.5 inches and a second place finish in the shot put with a distance of 29 feet 6 inches, Jazmyn Sellers also got third place in the shot put with a distance of almost 29 feet 3 inches. Also, Payton Beckman earned a first place finish in the 400m dash with a time of 1:03 and Jaidyn Sellers earned a first place finish in the 200m dash with a time of 26.60.

The Panthers boys track and field team was able to get a 9th place finish at AC/GC on Monday with a team score of 29 points. Nile Lindstrom led the way in points on the day with 11 including a second place finish in the 400m dash with a time of 55.14 and a sixth place finish in the long jump with a distance of 19 feet 2 inches. Also, Hunter Pauley took second place in the long jump with a distance of almost 20 feet 8 inches. Skyler Poldberg also earned a fifth place finish in the high jump with a height of 5 feet 8 inches.

The Panthers girls and boys track and field teams are also preparing for their state qualifying meet that will take place this Thursday as the girls and boys will be heading to Treynor for the Class 2A state qualifying meet.
