The Stuart City Council met Monday. 

The Council decided to rescind a mowing contract by Countryside Lawn Solutions after a letter was submitted and read out loud about alleged threats from a city employee made against the company. The Council also decided to take action against the employee later. Then they approved a six month mowing contract from TCB Lawn Services for $26,500 and a spraying weeds bid for Schwinger Lawn Service for $2,600. Also, the Council approved a four percent raise for full and part time city employees wages for the next fiscal year?, the designation of State and Local Fiscal Recovery and made  a donation for $500 to the Congregate Meals.  

The Council approved the Aquatic Center proposal to institute a $20 discount for a senior citizen’s daily pass, a trial punch care for $60 and a $0.75 raise for lifeguards that give swimming lessons. Finally, the Council held a public hearing and approved the fiscal year 2022 budget amendment along with approving a permission request to build a privacy fence at 1511 Northeast 2nd Street and setting a public hearing for the 2022 Sewer Manhole project for June 13th.
