The first win of the Greene County high school girls’ soccer season was by a 1-0 score on Saturday morning vs. Creston at the Creston tournament. The win was the first since 2019 for the program and it stopped a 28 match losing streak. The victory was also win number one for first year head coach Maribel Hernandez.
Coach Hernandez reports a scoreless first half vs. the host Panthers, who fell to 0-11 with the loss. The only goal of the contest came from Esther Van Horn on an assist by Chanlyn Cunningham. The Rams had a season high nine shots on goal with four by Katrina Heupel, three from Van Horn, and two from Cunningham.
Panorama won the tournament by defeating the Rams 8-0 in game two. Greene County is 1-8 on the season.
