Roland-Story hosted the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference coed track & field meet on Thursday in Story City. The host school won both team titles with Greene County finishing third among boys’ teams and fifth on the girls’ side.

R-S had 166 boys’ points with Nevada at 140.5, followed by 107 for the Rams, West Marshall (State Center) 85, South Hamilton (Jewell) 81, PCM (Monroe) 71.5, Saydel (Des Moines) 49, and 29 for Perry.

The R-S girls scored 147 with WM at 133, SH 122.5, PCM 99, Greene County 86, Nevada 78.5, Perry 54, and six for Saydel.

Greene County won two boys’ events and two for girls. Jackson Morton won the 400 meter low hurdles in :57.16 and it was the first time he’d run that race this season. Morton set a personal best in the process. Morton anchored the winning shuttle hurdle relay in 1:03.20 that also included Landyn Venteicher, Bryce Stalder, and Nate Black. The girls’ victories were in the 200 meter dash from Olivia Shannon in a career best :26.34, and Shannon anchored the first place 4 x 200 meter relay with Katrina Heupel, Natalie Heupel, and Bella Schroeder, in a season best time of 1:49.72.
