A recent piece of legislation that was approved by both the Iowa House and Senate is awaiting a signature from Governor Kim Reynolds, and it deals with E-15.

Iowa State Senator for District 10 Jake Chapman says a bill that would help provide more opportunities for ethanol was recently passed by both the House and Senate and is awaiting the governor’s signature.

“This bill will require E-15 to be sold at convenience stores, gas stations and it provided some financial incentives for those convenience stores to be able to put those pumps in place. We need to continue to focus on making sure that we are not dependent on foreign oil. Some of these countries that we purchase oil from are not our friends, they are our enemies. We want to make sure that we are energy independent and I think ethanol obviously plays a component in that.”
