This week offers a time to appreciate what teachers provide to the Perry Community School District during Teacher Appreciation Week.

Teacher Appreciation Week will be running until May 7th and Perry High School Principal Dan Marburger says the teachers are the driving force behind the district, especially the last few years during the coronavirus pandemic.

“Our teachers here, they mean so much to our kids and they really just drive our whole system and we can’t do enough for them, we can’t appreciate them enough and tell them that the job they are doing is just amazing. Teacher Appreciation Week really should be Teacher Appreciation Year.”

Counselor Tamara Valline tells Raccoon Valley Radio she has been with the district for 25 years and over that time she says one thing that has remained constant is teachers putting in extra time to make sure they are ready to teach students in the best way possible while having an inviting classroom environment.

“We really appreciate all that they do, they are the feet on the ground making this entity of the school system work. I see them every day just working really hard trying to help our students.”

Teacher Appreciation Week will run until May 7th.
