The Panorama Panthers had multiple representatives up at the Blue Oval in Des Moines for the Drake Relays and they concluded with good results going up against the states best competitors from every class.

The Drake Relays concluded with the Panorama Panthers having their own representatives at the Blue Oval in Des Moines and the Panthers came away with a successful group of events. Against the states best competitors five events featured athletes from Panorama.

Sophomore standout and state champion in the 100m and 200m last year Jaidyn Sellers participated in four solo events throughout the relays which included an eighth place finish in the high jump at 5 feet 4 inches, then the 800m run where she finished fifth overall with a time of 2:14. Sellers then took part in the 100m dash where she was able to get a fourth place finish with a time of 12.81. Sellers then took part in the 400m where she earned a twelfth place finish with a time of 58.66. Sellers continued to show she is one of the best athletes not only in the state but throughout all of Class 2A as she holds the top times in Class 2A in the 100m, 200m and 400m dashes as well as the 800m run.

For Panorama the girls 4×100 team of Zoey Hambleton, Payton Beckman, Grace Webner and Jazmyn Sellers also got to compete at the Drake Relays this year. The team was able to clock a time of 54.97 at this year’s Drake Relays.

Overall, Panorama Panthers athletes proved they can hang with the best athletes the State of Iowa can offer across all classes. Now, the Panthers will turn their focus back to regular season track meets as they prepare for the post season of track and field and look to make it back to the state meets this year.
