Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Tigers track and field boys and girls teams have been able to put forth a terrific stretch of April meets and that narrative did not change on Thursday night, with both teams finding some great success at Newton. Both teams were able to place high in the standings, the girls finishing 1st again with a team score of 150.5 points and the boys also first with a mark of 155 points.
The solid results for the Tigers girls were due to all of the first place finishes. The finishes included Hailee Henfling in the 100 meter dash at 12.78 seconds. Geneva Timmerman in the 800 meter run with a time of 2 minutes 21 seconds. Olivia Tollari with a mark of 18-03 in the long jump. The 4×200 meter team finishes with a time of 1 minute 43 seconds, and the 4×400 team a time of 4 minutes 8 seconds. The Tigers got multiple second and third place finishes as well.
The boys were also loaded with first place finishes, Aiden Flora in the 200 meter dash at 23.54 seconds. Torin Timmerman in the 3200 meter run with a mark of 10 minutes 18 seconds. Vince Benetti in the shot put with a mark of 49-02. The 4×100 meter relay team at 44.07 seconds, and the 4×400 team at 3 minutes 28 seconds. The 4×800 meter team at 8 minutes 14 seconds,
For both of the teams, neither have any events over the weekend, and both will be back next Tuesday, with the boys to race at Carlisle and the girls to race at home in Adel.
