Greene County won 3-1 in boys’ soccer at Winterset on Tuesday night. Coach Carl Behne’s Rams improved to 3-1 on the season with the victory while the Huskies fell to 2-6. Jose Velazco scored twice with Gesser Guttieres scoring one goal and dishing out one assist. Nathan Behne also had an assist as the Rams had 11 shots and seven shots on goal. Gabe Ebersole was in goal for the Rams and he registered 10 saves.
The coach told Raccoon Valley Radio it was a solid match all around and all 11 Rams played very well together. The coach was also pleased to have a full roster after missing some players in the previous contest.
The Rams haven’t played at home in Grand Junction yet and they remain on the road Thursday at Des Moines Christian School (5-2) in Urbandale. The Greene County home opener is April 26 vs. Perry.
