letters-2

Greene County is coming off its first boys’ soccer loss of the season and will look to get back on the winning track tonight at Winterset. The Huskies, from the Raccoon River Activities Conference, are 1-5 on the season and have scored seven goals so far. The Rams are 2-1 with eight goals scored after being shut out last Friday at Van Meter, 2-0.

The Rams were missing some players vs. VM and others were playing at less than full strength, so head coach Carl Behne is hoping to have a full lineup tonight. Jose Velazco has three goals for the Rams with two each from Gesser Gutierres and Nathan Behne. Brenner Gallagher has one goal. Velazco is the points leader with seven, followed by Behne at six and Guttieres with five. Goalkeeper Gabe Ebersole has had just four goals scored against him with 17 saves.
Another road trip awaits the Rams on Thursday vs. Des Moines Christian School in Urbandale. The Rams haven’t been at home in Grand Junction yet and won’t be until next Tuesday, April 26 vs. Perry.
