On Saturday, both of the Dallas Center – Grimes boys soccer teams and boys golf team competed in various events, with both programs able to find some success.

For the boys soccer team, they competed in two matches on Saturday at the Cedar Valley Soccer Complex at Waterloo, with the team splitting the two matches, losing the first game to Waukee by the score of 1-0, before bouncing back with a nice victory over Waterloo West 2-1. The lone goal in the Waukee game came in the first half as DCG couldn’t strike one into the back of the net, while the Mustangs were able to tally a big second half goal to beat out the WaHawks. DCG soccer is now 5-1.

On the golf side, the team went down to Pella to compete against multiple schools, and were able to come away with a quality 5th place finish with a 688 team score. Blake Perrin was able to put together a two round score of 84 and 82 to lead the Mustangs with a 166, and Jacob Runyan was able to shoot a 168 total, with rounds of 87 and 81.

Both teams will have more matches coming up this week, as they will be looking for strong results across the board.
