The Greene County School Board moved their meeting to tomorrow night in order to certify their budget by the April 15th deadline.
The meeting will start with two public hearings, including the 2023 fiscal year budget and an amendment to the current fiscal year budget. The proposed budget includes a reduction in the overall tax levy from $14.55 to $14.42 per $1,000 of property valuation, along with decreasing the percentage of the income surtax and voter-approved Physical Plant and Equipment Levy (PPEL) from 12-percent to eight-percent. The Board will consider approving both measures following the hearings.
Then, the Board will consider approving the second reading for a revised board policy on graduation requirements and discuss a video scoreboard purchase for the football field. Next, the Board will consider for approval school driving permit requests, finalize the superintendent contract, the 2023 fiscal year administrative and classified contracts, fertilizer contract, summer projects, fundraiser requests, and the expenses associated with the federally allocated Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) funds and review the 2021 fiscal year audit report.
