New information has been released by the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office regarding a Sunday night fire near Minburn.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the Minburn and Dallas Center Fire Departments, deputies and Dallas EMS responded to the incident at 7:50pm Sunday at 22760 Laredo Trail, southwest of Minburn. The Sheriff’s Office says they were responding to a call that someone had poured gasoline inside the house and lit it on fire. There were three occupants that were able to get out of the home.

The main level of the residence was damaged and there was significant smoke damage throughout the home. Two of the occupants were taken by Dallas County EMS to area hospitals, and one of them was eventually transported to the Burn Treatment Center in Iowa City. The extent of their injuries are unknown at this time. 

The Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident as an arson and attempted murder. The names of those involved are not being released at this time.
