Greene County has a big day of high school sports on the docket for today, and it appears the weather is going to be cooperative.
The Rams go to Carroll Athletic Field for the Tiger Relays, a co-ed track & field meet today. Getting meets in during less than ideal weather conditions so far this Spring has been a challenge, and there are only 10 days left to submit performances for Drake Relays qualifications. Coach Derek Merk on the girls’ side and Coach Chad Morton of the boys’ team hope to see some high level performances later today from their teams.
Both Greene County soccer programs have action scheduled for later today. The girls are in Grand Junction vs. Panorama with the varsity teams playing at 5:30 p.m. and the JV to follow. The boys go to Huxley to face Ballard, again the varsity match is at 5:30 p.m. with JV to follow. Maribel Hernandez is the girls’ head coach and Carl Behne is head coach for the boys.
There’s girls’ golf scheduled today with Roland-Story at Story City for Coach Josh Carlson’s Rams at 4:30 p.m.
