A fundraiser is ongoing with a local library in Perry aims to raise funds to support the library services.
The Friends of the Perry Public Library and Perry Greenhouse and Supply have partnered to create a spring floral basket fundraiser that is running from now until Saturday, May 15th and will take place at Perry Greenhouse and Supply. Library Director Mary Murphy talks about the fundraiser.
“We are looking forward to raising some funds for programming. The Friends (of the Perry Library) are very important to the library in that they raise almost all the funds for the children’s summer reading program. They also help out with the Kids Fest that is going to be on June 4th and they also volunteer.”
Murphy tells Raccoon Valley Radio they are selling vouchers that are $23 a piece and a portion of the proceeds go directly to the Friends of the Perry Library. Murphy says the vouchers can be used to purchase 10 inch baskets or plants.
“It’s just like a $23 gift certificate. If your plants come back underneath that they’ll probably do a notation on the back of your card and if they come over you just pay the difference so it works out for everyone.”
