A business in Jefferson recently moved to its new location and is celebrating with a special public event next week.
Heartland Bank had relocated from its downtown location on the square to its new home at 1706 North Elm Street, in the Greene County Development Corporation West Business Park. Business Development Officer Scott Weber says they wanted to make the move because they wanted a permanent location and felt where they are now makes sense with the traffic flow along Highway 4 and being in an area where there is more commercial development happening. He talks about why they wanted to build new versus renovating an existing facility in Jefferson.
“So we looked into that and with prices the way they were, how long it would’ve taken us to do, there’s scenarios on how long that can take. We just didn’t feel like it was the right fit for us to renovate something and we wanted to make our own mark on the community and show people that we were going to be here for a really long time.”
Weber notes the new facility quadruples their square footage to 4,600 and includes new services that the temporary location couldn’t do, such as a drive-thru, and drive-up ATM machine, and night drop boxes. A ribbon-cutting has also been announced for Wednesday, April 13th at 9am. Everyone is invited to come out to the new building and visit with staff.
