Greene County boys’ head soccer coach Carl Behne and assistant Chad Black have made some adjustments in positioning and spacing for the 2022 season. The Rams opened on Tuesday night with a 2-1 overtime victory in Boone to start the season 1-0.

The coach talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about where he would like to see his team dominate. “We really want to own the midfield. In past years, if anything, we’ve been a little softer in our midfield and that ended up putting a little extra workload on our defense. Our hope is that our midfield controls and really dominates the game so much that our backline doesn’t have to work quite as hard as they have in the past.”

The Rams aren’t scheduled for boys’ soccer at all next week. The Greene County girls play soccer on April 4 at Des Moines Hoover and the Rams will be looking to break a 22 match losing streak dating back to the 2019 season.
