All Greene County 6th-12th graders are invited to sign up for a free showing of the movie “Divergent” at the Sierra Community Theatre in Jefferson later this week.
Jefferson Library Director Jane Millard says the movie is based off the first book in a series written by Veronica Roth. The fictional story takes place in Chicago where 16 year-olds are forced to choose between five different groups of society-honesty, selflessness, bravery, peace, and intelligence-the main character is torn between who her real friends are.
She points out that last year the teens department put on a themed-party at the Greene County Community Center based off the book “Hunger Games”.
She states that the first 100 teens that sign up at any of the libraries in the county will get a free admission to the movie theater and $2 off a concession stand purchase.
It will be at 4pm on Friday, March 21st and the event is co-sponsored by the Greene County Libraries Association and the County Board of Supervisors.
