The recent redistricting process has local lawmakers on the move, and one Dallas County representative will campaign in a new district.
Iowa House Representative for District 19 Carter Nordman will be running in Iowa House District 47 which includes all of Greene and Guthrie Counties along with Perry in Dallas County. Nordman talks about the changes.
“My current district got split up into about five different new districts. The population of District 19, of which I represent right now, has grown substantially over the last ten years and so it was cut up in a lot of different directions. So, I am going to still continue to, in my new district, represent portions of District 19 but it will look pretty different.”
Nordman tells Raccoon Valley Radio he is excited to represent the same constituents he already has while also getting out to see the new people as well.
“I am looking forward to continuing to serve the constituents that I currently serve but also getting out there and meeting my new constituents.”
Nordman was elected to the Iowa House of Representatives in November of 2020.
