Perry’s returning state long jumpers picked up some early leaps this week at the UNI Invitational inside the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls. Daniels jumped 20-8 1/2 while Whiton was at 20-7 1/2. “Both of our guys were still a little dinged up from basketball, said Head Coach Cody Eichmeyer, “I was hoping to scratch 21 feet but it just wasn’t meant to be. They really have taken only a few leaps this year in practice so it was good for them to get out and jump in a controlled environment. Once we start practicing, those two will be just fine and ready to start scoring some points again for us this year.”
Perry’s first outdoor track meet will be April 3rd with the Gail Davis Relays.
