The Jefferson City Council met Tuesday night in regular session.

The Council appointed Hollie Roberts to replace her late husband Jerry on the Library Board of Trustees. They also approved waiving a review of a plat of survey for a property north of Sparky’s One Stop gas station as it was within two miles of city limits.

Additionally, the Council approved a development agreement through the approved Community Development Block Grant for upper story apartments of $435,000 and also as a forgivable loan at 200 East State Street between the city and the developer, Jefferson City View Properties. They also approved another development agreement with a grant through the Iowa Economic Development Authority, along with a forgivable loan of $500,000 for upper story apartments at 123 North Chestnut Street between the city and Pub Adventures and a certificate of compliance for a CDBG Procurement Stands for the project.

Finally, the Council approved an agreement for engineering services and a grant application with the Federal Aviation Administration of $163,700 for design and construction plans for a new 100-by-100 foot hangar at the city airport, along with approving the city’s insurance policy with a premium cost of $247,461.
