A local Chamber of Commerce is going to honor an individual for the volunteerism efforts.

The Guthrie Center Chamber of Commerce is going to have for the first time a “Volunteer of the Year Award,” that recognises a resident that has volunteered their time to help the community. To nominate someone in the community there are forms at the Guthrie County State Bank, Peoples Bank or the Chamber office, or a form can be emailed. The application deadline is this Thursday and the award will be given out on April 8th at the Celebrate Guthrie Center event.
