Emergency Management Coordinator of Adair and Guthrie Counties Bob Kempf says the one of the best ways to receive timely severe weather information is by downloading the AlertIowa app on a smart device. He also includes other options to gather information on storms affecting the Raccoon Valley Listening area. 

“Making sure that you’re listening to KKRF. You guys have a live app where you can actually listen to what’s being talked about on the radio on your phone. So just being able to get that information and know where you’re going to go to get that warning information and having your trusted sources that you like to turn to personally.”

For those looking to download the AlertIowa or KKRF app there will be links available below. The Raccoon Valley Radio Severe Weather Action Team provides live coverage any time there is a severe thunderstorm or tornado warning in Dallas, Guthrie or Greene counties until the severe weather has moved out of the listening area or has dropped below severe levels.
