
Friday, March 18th
11:59am: A caller was cleaning out an apartment at 1216 Westwood Drive, and located am baggy of suspected marijuana. The officer took possession of the items for destruction.
4:23pm: Officers assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 500 Block of South Olive Street.
6:35pm: Linda Reyerson reported her mother is a Long-Term Care patient at 1000 West Lincoln Way Street. Her mother had called her and was asking for her to help her. The officer checked with staff and learned the subject was fine.
6:45pm: A caller advised an officer of a subject having Stolen Property from a neighbor’s residence. The officer is investigating.
Saturday, March 19th
12:56am: An officer performed a Traffic Stop with a vehicle at 508 North Elm Street. The officer’s investigation led to the arrest of Jason Robert Smith, 36 of Jefferson for, OWI 1st Offense – Serious and Open Container/Driver – Simple.”
1:41am: A caller advised of a Barking Dog in the 300 Block of South Walnut Street. The officer spent several minutes in the area, but did not hear the dog.
2:24am: Dispatch received an Abandoned 911 Call from the West Sunset area. The officer did not locate anyone in the area needing assistance.
11:00am: An officer responded to an Alarm Activation at 200 East State Street. The officer arrived and located construction workers, who had tripped the alarm by accident.
1:38pm: An officer responded to an Alarm Activation at 1805 North Elm Street. The officer found the building secure.
4:43pm: VWZ Express of Chicago reported a missing truck driver. The vehicle was parked at 777 Wild Rose Lane, but the driver would not answer the phone for several hours. Officers located the truck. No one appeared to be inside the truck. Officers checked the casino and all motels, but did not locate the subject. With permission from the trucking firm, officers made entry into the semi. No one was inside. At about 2055 hrs, the driver contacted officers. He was fine and was heading out in the truck.
8:35pm: Danielle Eastman advised she had caught a Stray Dog at 201 East Perry Street. Officers returned the animal to the owner, with a Verbal Warning for the Animal at Large.
8:53pm: John Woodford turned over a Fake $100.00 Bill. It had been located outside of 118 South Chestnut Street. The officer destroyed the obvious fake bill.
9:41pm: Melinda Madison spoke with an officer about Civil Issues with a neighbor at 105 North Walnut Street.
10:12pm: Robert McCauley spoke to an officer about concerns he had with a friend. The officer advised he could not do much, unless his friend calls and reports the issue to law enforcement.
11:55pm: A Traffic Stop near Mahlon and Grimmell Road resulted in Timothy Earl Sigler of Jefferson being cited for, “Driving While Suspended and Fail to Have Proof of Financial Liability.”
Sunday, March 20th
1:43am: Scott Tanner caught a Stray Dog in the 700 Block of West Russell Street. The dog was placed in the Animal Holding Facility.
12:21pm: Brenda Spaulding advised of a dog, dragging a chain, near Olive and Madison Streets. A resident was able to capture the stray in their garage. The officers arrived and the owner showed up and took possession of the animal. Tricia Owens of Jefferson was issued a citation for, “Animal at Large Prohibited.”
6:42pm: Christopher Dorr advised he was walking his dog on a leash near Russell and South Wilson Streets. A dog was let out of the residence at 622 South Wilson Street as he walked on the other side of the road on the sidewalk. The animal ran out of its yard, across the street and attacked his dog. He was able to separate the two, and the dog attacked his dog again. Dorr’s dog had minor injuries from the attack. Officers spoke to the owner of the other animal involved. The owner was advised to provide Rabies Vaccination Form to the officer and the animal must stay inside the residence for a 10 Day Quarantine Period. After the 10-day quarantine, the animal must leave the City of Jefferson as the officer deemed the animal Illegal, per ordinances.
8:18pm: Rebecca Schrepher reported a subject riding a dirt bike on East Vest Street. She provided the officer with a name of the driver. The officer located the subject at his residence and spoke to him about the issue.
