A local art council is starting a scholarship to celebrate the life of Jen Hewitt. 

The Guthrie County Arts Council‘s new scholarship fund called the “Jen Hewitt Award,” and this annual scholarship would go to four graduating high school students in the class of 2023 in the  following school districts: Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center, West Central Valley, Panorama and Coon-Rapids Bayard. The students will be selected by the art teachers at the participating schools. The scholarship winners will be announced and presented in May. 

The award is in memory of Jen Hewitt who was a member, artist, event coordinator and president of the Guthrie County Arts Council. For those who would like to donate to the scholarship fund a check can be mailed to the Art on State building.
