With a global celebration taking place on Thursday law enforcement will be on roads making sure motorists get home safely.
Guthrie County Sheriff Marty Arganbright says with St. Patrick’s Day tomorrow they urge motorists to drive sober.
“People like to go out and have a good time and drink alcohol, but if you do, make sure you have a designated driver. You can always ask someone to drive if you feel that you’re intoxicated. You can also call us and we’ll pick you up and bring you home. We’d rather do that than for you to get into an accident or get an OWI. (Operating While Intoxicated)”
Arganbright also says that it is against the law to have an open container inside a vehicle and illegal to walk around outside in public with an alcoholic beverage.
