With both seasons concluded for the Panorama Panthers girls and boys basketball teams it’s time to take a look at what the teams could look like next season.

For the Panthers girls team they finished a phenomenal season going 25-2 and making it all the way to the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union State Semifinal Round where they fell to the eventual Class 2A State Champion Dike-New Hartford Wolverines.

The Panthers girls team will say goodbye to a few seniors in Payton Beckman, Laci Rishel, Gabby Welberg and Angel Poldberg. Together these seniors played in four straight regional championship games and averaged 38 points per night for a high scoring Panthers girls offense this season. While those four are graduating there are players in Jaidyn Sellers, Mia Waddle, Tyme Boettcher and Zoey Hambleton among others who will get more minutes out on the court next year for the Panther girls and they averaged almost 24 points per game this season together.

The Panthers boys basketball team finished out their season with an overall record of 15-9 and making it all the way to the District 15 Championship game where they fell to the Van Meter Bulldogs. The Panthers do have some seniors they will lose in the offseason but there were some talented underclassmen out on the court this year.

The Panthers boys will say goodbye to seniors Jared Wasson, Brice Taylor, Jackson Peasley, Avery Norman, Skyler Poldberg, Josh VanWinkle and Austin Block who together averaged nearly 34 points per game together but there were other Panthers boys in Braedon Draper, Braylon Dawes and Maddox Hammerstrom who were impact players for the Panthers boys this season and who will provide experience out on the court next year. Together this core of players averaged almost 30 points per game for the Panthers boys throughout the season and will provide experience out on the court next year.

While both the Panorama Panthers girls and boys basketball teams will be losing some core seniors in the offseason there are players already on the roster that can step in next season.
