The Perry City Council approved the award for the 2020 downtown street and utility improvements at their regular meeting Monday.

The Council awarded the bid to Crow River Construction out of New London, Minnesota in the amount of $3,244,200 which is o.1-percent lower than the engineer’s estimate. The Board also approved a pay application in the amount of $1,289,026.72 to Woodruff Construction for the wastewater treatment facility improvements.

Also, the Council set a public hearing date of  6 p.m. March 21st for the proposed fiscal year 2023 budget, a member for the historic preservation commission for Brian Eiteman who will serve a term that will expire on March 7th, 2025 and the 2022 rules for the yard waste disposal site which will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.

Additionally, the Council approved setting a schedule for the 2022 yard waste disposal site and procedures that has the 2022 schedule for all non-burning disposal of yard waste being collected on Wednesdays only beginning April 6th and running until December 7th.

Also, the Council approved the publication of public notice of the councils’ intention to fill a vacancy by appointment, the vacancy is for Ward 2. Finally, the Council approved a three year service agreement with Mediacom Business for the McCreary Community Building phone and internet and set a public hearing for March 21st at 6 p.m. for the application of a CDBG Water and Sewer Grant in the amount of $600,000.
