Dr. Glenn Hurst was hosted by the Perry Area Democrats this past Thursday night and visited with those in attendance at the Hotel Pattee. Hurst says he feels there are topics that will be discussed in the near future which played a role in announcing his candidacy.

“I think there are critical issues that are going to be addressed in the very near future related to our climate and related to healthcare and in climate we need to basing the decisions that we make on data and as a physician, a scientist, we are trained to look at data, interpret data and make decisions based on it and so I think it’s really important to have a scientific person in that position.”

Hurst tells Raccoon Valley Radio that he also feels it’s important to have someone involved who has knowledge of healthcare to help make changes in healthcare. Hurst says in terms of his most important platform topics rural recovery would be an important topic for him.

“Our rural communities are just suffering and we have got to reverse that.”
