WCV girls basketball coach Dave Druivenga sat down with me on the Wahl McAtee Tire and Service Center Guthrie County PM Sports Page.

Coach Druivenga was asked about how the team managed to turn things around this season. Coach Druivenga said, “I made a decision at Christmas break. We were going to go back to practicing the fundamentals of shooting, dribbling, and passing. For go things like conditioning and other things. I think it helped us. We weren’t putting the ball in the basket. Had to go back to the fundamentals. If you can’t score, you won’t win many games.”

That did prove to be a big help for the Wildcats. This led to an 11-11 season and a postseason win.
