The Greene County High School Vocal Music Department is hosting a new event later this week.

The first-ever All That Jazz Vocal Jazz Festival will be on Friday with eight other schools coming to the high school in Jefferson. Vocal Director David Heupel says groups from Adel-DeSoto-Minburn, Perry, Spencer, West Des Moines Valley, Waukee Northwest, Spirit Lake, Des Moines Roosevelt and Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson will each perform 40 minutes in the auditorium to receive comments from guest clinicians Justin Binek from Kansas City and Jennifer Parker from Minneapolis. 

Heupel says the festival will wrap up with a performance from Greene County’s own Ram Jive at 7pm, followed by a special show from Parker and Binek, who are accomplished vocal jazz performers. The public is invited to watch the evening shows with a $5 admission fee.
