A Guthrie Center non-profit organization held their annual event to help kids in need.
The Guthrie Center Lions Club had their annual KidSight vision screening at the Guthrie Center Elementary School on February 17th. This event is designed to catch vision problems with children that are in preschool, kindergarten or in transitional kindergarten. This program conducted vision screenings on roughly 21 children with the intent to send the results back to a vision specialist for further evaluation. The program was run by the Lions Club’s volunteers and helped by students in the Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center High School Certified Nurse Assistant course. These vision screenings can allow specialists to prevent lazy eye or any other problems that can harm the child’s ability to learn.
