Friday, February 11th

8:32am: A Traffic Stop in the 100 Block of East Lincoln Way Street resulted in Mickey Kaufman of Des Moines being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”

1:42pm: Beth Dowd requested an officer at 517 North Olive Street for a male withholding her mail from her. The officer mediated the issue with the pair.

3:06pm: An officer removed a tree branch from the roadway at 700 North Chestnut Street.

3:33pm: A Traffic Stop in the 800 Block of South Chestnut Street resulted in Imelda Lozano of Jefferson being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”

6:50pm: Officers were requested at ER to assist with an Unruly Patient.

7:01pm: Jamie Venteicher requested a Welfare Check on a male in the 300 Block of South Oak Street. The officers could not locate the subject with the information provided by Venteicher.

7:19pm: Kenneth Kendall requested a Welfare Check on his adult son, who was somewhere in Jefferson. The officer later learned the subject had returned home in Rippey and was fine.

8:07pm: Mike Wahl reported a Suspicious Vehicle in the 1200 Block of North Elm Street. The officer did not locate the reported vehicle.

Saturday, February 12th

3:13am: An officer located an Open Door at 601 West Wall Street. The officer secured the building after a walk through.

11:03am: A Traffic Stop in the 500 Block of South Chestnut Street resulted in Cheryl Tiffany of Jefferson being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”

11:16am: Tyler Rysavy requested an officer at 100 North Olive Street, #3, for an Unwanted Male there. The officer spoke to the subject, who left on his own.

11:50am: An employee of a Suicide Prevention Hotline requested a Welfare Check on a male at 202 West Adams Street. The officer transported a male to ER for an Evaluation form a medical doctor.

12:24pm: John Funcke requested a Welfare Check on a female in Pennsylvania, who he had been speaking to online. She reported she had been kidnapped and wanted him to send a ransom to her captures. The officer advised Funcke this appeared to be a Scam and not to send any money.

12:25pm: Kelly Freeman reported her juvenile son had run away from 304 South Olive Street. The officer located the youth walking in the 200 Block of West Washington Street and returned him to his parents.

1:50pm: Janice Napolitano reported an opossum with its head caught in a jar at 1201 West Lincoln Way Street. The officer located the animal, which was deceased. The officer removed the animal and disposed of it.

2:39pm: Dennis Hammen reported that two female juveniles had been involved in a fight at 204 West Harrison Street on 02/11/2022. He provided video of the event to the officer. The officer is investigating.

4:41pm: Amie Kniffin requested a Welfare Check on animals inside a residence at 705 West Harrison Street. She advised no one has been at the residence for weeks. The officer made contact with the owner of the animals, who advised she stops and cares for the animals daily and keeps them inside, due to cold temperatures.

5:16pm: Gary Parker requested an officer at 606 South Maple Street, as his wife had assaulted him. The officer’s investigation led to the arrest of Karyn Melissa Parker, 37 of Jefferson for, “Domestic Abuse Assault 1st Offense – Simple.”

6:58pm: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 1100 Block of McDuffie Drive.

Sunday, February 13th

2:17am: An officer located an Open Door at 509 East Gallop Road. The officer secured the business.

3:09am: An officer located an Open Door at 600 East Lincoln Way Street. The building was secured by the officer.

10:43am: Per court order, an officer escorted a female to 606 South Maple Street to gather her personal effects from the residence.

11:02am: An officer responded to 401 South Wilson Ave, after dispatch received an Alarm Activation from the location. The officer located a worker inside, who had accidentally tripped the alarm.

12:28pm: Shelly Thornton reported Suspicious Activity involving 2 vehicles in the 500 Block of East Clark Street. The officer later made a Traffic Stop with one of the reported vehicles in the 200 Block of West Head Street. Shelby Marie McBride of Saint Paul, MN. was cited for, “Failure to Carry Registration Card, Fail to Provide Proof of Financial Liability, and Driving While Revoked.” Two vehicles were towed and placed in Impound.

8:24pm: A Traffic Stop was performed at 220th and Doreen Wilbur Drive resulting in Chelsea Fishback of Breda being cited for, Fail to Provide Proof of Financial Liability.”

Tuesday, February 15th

12:24am: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical call in the 100 Block of East Monroe Street.

12:01pm: An officer was advised that trucks hauling construction debris away from 1500 North Mulberry Street, were dropping debris on North Cedar Street. The officer made Landus aware of the complaint. They advised they would contact the contractor hauling the debris and fix the issue.

12:44pm: Melinda Madison requested an officer at 105 North Walnut Street to report Trespassing upon her property. Madison advised that someone had entered her garage and gone through items inside. She believed it to be a neighbor. During the interaction with Madison, the officer kept detecting the strong pungent odor of marijuana coming from inside the residence. The officer spoke to a couple who also live in the residence and was granted Permission to Search from all parties. During the Consent Search, several items of paraphernalia, baggies, scales, and marijuana were seized. Charges for the narcotic items are pending lab results. The officer is still investigating the Trespass complaint.

6:23pm: Jan Black spoke with an officer in connection to a Civil Property Issue with a male subject. She was advised to speak with an attorney to remedy the issue.
