The WCV boys basketball team played a Class 2A Region 8 matchup on Monday.

They were playing against crosstown rival Panorama. It was a battle of 5-17 WCV against 13-8 Panorama. The Wildcats were riding a two game win streak into the postseason. They played hard in the first only trailing Panorama, 21-13. The Panther offense continued to play well and outscored WCV 17-11. Making it a 38-24 game at halftime.

The third quarter was a big quarter for the Panorama defense. They held the Wildcats to only nine points. This would give the Panthers a 55-33 lead going to the last quarter. WCV showed a lot of character and tried to mount a comeback. They scored 16 points in the fourth but it wasn’t enough. Panorama would win 66-49.

The Wildcats will end the season with a 5-18 record. They were 2-13 in conference.
