The season will be on the line tonight for the Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center women’s basketball team as they enter postseason play.
The Lady Chargers will face the West Central Valley Wildcats tonight in Guthrie Center. This will be the third matchup between these two teams this year. The first game took place in Adair with the Chargers coming away with a lopsided victory 49-18 with Saige O’Brien scoring 16 points and 6/7 from the field. The second matchup this season ended with a West Central Valley win 43-40 with Madelyn Jaeger scoring 21 points. Head Brad Baulder tells Raccoon Valley Radio after their latest win over Madrid (45-26) it’s about being focused.
“You know, what do we do wrong, what can we do better? And so that’s going to be the huge thing, you know, just fixing the small details and being efficient and as effective as we possibly can. Maximizing possessions, you know, We struggled scoring against (West Central Valley) last time we had droughts. So that’s the big thing, getting great shots every single time and then finding a way to keep that going.”
The Class 2A Region 8 Quarterfinal game will take place at the AC/GC gymnasium starting at 7pm with live coverage on KKRF-2 or on Raccoon Valley Radio.com with a link posted. The winner will move on and play at Treynor Community School against either Treynor or Kuemper Catholic.
