Sergeant Bluff-Luton was a 63-13 Class 3A Region 7 first round girls’ basketball winner over Greene County in Sergeant Bluff Saturday night. The game was heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. Coach Tori Ogden, in her first season as head coach, saw her team end with a 3-19 record while the Warriors advance to the next round with 18 wins and four losses.
Brianna Habben, the lone senior on the Greene County team, scored four points and had nine rebounds. Regan Tuhn led the Rams in scoring with six points on a pair of second half three-pointers.
SB-L led 8-0 before the Rams got on the board to make it 8-2. After that, the next 45 points were scored by the home team for a 53-2 lead. It was 48-2 at halftime and the SB-L pressure defense caused 26 first half turnovers. The Warriors did not turn the ball over at all in the first half. For the game, the Rams had 35 turnovers and SB-L had eight.
