It was recently announced that the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine was given full approval by the Food and Drug Administration, and public health officials explain what that means.
Dallas County Health Department Public Information Officer Ann Cochran says for the Moderna vaccine, full approval means it has gone through the intensive research process on approving use of a new medication for a specific disease.
“Anyone who has been saying for the past two years that they are waiting for more research should wait no more. Both Pfizer and now Moderna are fully proved as safe and effective for adults, so please get vaccinated now.”
