The Perry City Council approved a pay application for the wastewater treatment facility improvements at their regular meeting Monday.
The Council approved the pay application in the amount of $755,750 to Woodruff Construction for the wastewater treatment facility improvements. Also, the Council approved the renewal of the federal migratory bird depredation permit for allowing the capture or right to kill birds to reduce damage they cause.
Also, the Council approved a polling place agreement between the Dallas County Commissioner of Elections and the City of Perry to use space in various locations for polling locations for primary and general elections as well as city, school and special elections. Also, the Council approved the time and date of 6 p.m. February 22nd for a public hearing on the fiscal year 2023 proposed maximum property tax dollars.
The Council also approved a professional service agreement with Bolton and Menk to develop a cemetery management system for Violet Hill Cemetery. The Council also approved the award of a wastewater and drinking water treatment financial assistance program by the Iowa Finance Authority in the amount of $500,000.
Finally, the Council approved a grant application to the Water Infrastructure Fund for a watershed protection project in the amount of $500,000 with a $100,000 local match from the city stormwater fund, an urban conservation grant application for a project that will develop stormwater wetlands to treat runoff from approximately 300 total acres as well as recreational and educational components and approved multiple items for the 2020 downtown street and utility improvements and set a public hearing on the matter for 6 p.m. March 7th.
