Guthrie County will have a lot of representation in West Des Moines this weekend for the Iowa High School Speech Association Large Group Contest.
Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center High School will have eight groups headed to state to perform in the categories that include two Group Improv, as well as Choral Reading, One Act Play, Radio Broadcasting, Ensemble Acting, Group Mime and Musical Theater. Senior Alaina Bunde tells Raccoon Valley Radio about her excitement and goals for her mime group for the state competition.
“I’m excited just to go because this is my senior year and our group is full of seniors. So last year we made it here again and we fell short of all state. So our goal is definitely all state, but we’ve actually changed half of our mime’s. So I guess we’ll wait and see.”
Panorama High School will also perform in the categories of Readers Theater, two Ensemble Acting and Musical Theater at West Des Moines Valley High School tomorrow.
