The highly rated Roland-Story (Story City) basketball teams won Heart of Iowa Activities Conference games on Thursday night vs. Greene County in a makeup girl/boy doubleheader. The games were broadcast on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.

The Norsemen are ranked seventh in Class 3A by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union and they rolled to a 69-16 victory over the Rams, who fell to 1-14 with 14 straight losses. R-S improved to 13-4 overall and 9-1 in the conference. R-S had 12 points from Madi Bauer and 10 from Reagan Barkema. The Rams had seven points each from Brianna Habben and Emma Hoyle and they made just six baskets.

The R-S  boys improved to 10-0 in the conference and 15-2 overall with a 73-44 win while the Rams fell to 7-8 overall and 6-4 in the league. The Norsemen led 8-0 before the Rams finally got on the scoreboard after 4:53 of playing time had lapsed. The second quarter began with the Rams not scoring for the first 3:03. R-S junior Isaiah Naylor scored 25 points and didn’t score in the fourth quarter. R-S made nine of 28 three-point shots and 26 of 59 overall. The Rams were six of 22 on three’s and 17 of 50 overall.

Greene County is at State Center vs. West Marshall tonight in a conference girl/boy doubleheader. The girls play at 6 p.m. with the boys to follow. All the action can be heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
