It’s Heart of Iowa Activities Conference high school wrestling tonight in Monroe for the Greene County Rams. Coach Zach Beekman’s team faces South Hamilton (Jewell) and PCM at 6 o’clock. The Rams are wrestling for the third time in six days and they’ll take a 10-4 dual meet record into the action. PCM is 3-7 and the Rams own a 64-18 victory over the Mustangs on the first night of the season in Van Meter. SH is 4-7 and this will be the first meeting between the Hawks and Rams this season.
Greene County split two dual meets on Tuesday of this week in the only varsity home appearance this season. Harlan Community scored three falls in the last three matches to eek out a 36-34 win over the Rams, who then topped Perry 63-15. If the weather cooperates, the Rams will wrestle four times in eight days by taking part in the Perry Invitational on Saturday. Originally, Greene County was going to the Solon tournament, but if the weather cooperates and the Blue Jays are able to have their tournament, Greene County will go to Perry Saturday.
