A local legal representative is throwing her name into the Iowa Attorney General race.
Guthrie County Attorney Brenna Bird, a Republican, has announced her candidacy for Iowa Attorney General for the upcoming November general election. Bird discusses with Raccoon Valley Radio her agenda if elected.
“I’m going to work hard for Iowa and stand up against Washington (D.C.). It’s all sorts of different things like, you know, we’ve got a lot of regulations coming out of Washington, the authoritarian mandates about COVID vaccines. We also have a lot going on from the EPA ( Environmental Protection Agency) and other agencies that would really affect agriculture. And I think Iowans need an attorney general that will advocate for agriculture as well.”
She adds working with former Governor Terry Branstad to fight back against the Obama Administration helped her decide to run. Bird will run against Democrat incumbent Tom Miller and is the only Republican candidate so far. She is planning to campaign in all 99 counties in Iowa.
