20140225_ia_noneOverall drought conditions have slightly changed this week in all three of the Raccoon Valley Radio Network’s reporting areas.

Nearly all of Dallas County is now listed as abnormally dry as is the southern portion of Guthrie County.  The northwest corner of Dallas County and the northern half of Guthrie are still in a moderate drought.  The majority of Greene County is still experiencing severe drought conditions, though the southeast portion of the county is now in just a moderate drought.

According to the National Weather Service, after accounting for last Thursday’s storm, Perry has received 12.3 inches of snow so far this month, Jefferson has seen 13.2 inches and Guthrie Center has now had more than 14 inches of snow in February.  Normal snowfall amounts in those towns are 5.1, 7.4 and 5.4 inches respectively.

As for as precipitation, Perry has had 1.33 inches so far this month and Guthrie Center has received just over an inch.  Jefferson has had the most precipitation, totaling just under 2 inches.
