The 2020-21 Dallas Center – Grimes girls basketball team was able to put up a special year, finishing with an over all record of 21-3, winning the Little Hawkeye Conference, winning their district, and winning their first state basketball game as well.
This Mustang team was able to go 13-1 in their conference, sweeping every single team outside of one, dominating teams with a quick strike offense and suffocating defense. DCG as a team only gave up more than 50 points in just one game the entire season.
DCG was able to defeat Adel-DeSoto-Minburn and Creston on the way to the 4A state tournament, and win a playoff game as well in the quarterfinals over Bondurant-Farrar 43-32. The Mustangs would bow out to the eventual state champion Ballard in a defensive minded contest 32-26, as DCG concluded one of their most successful seasons in team history.
Dallas Center – Grimes girls basketball is off to a quality start this year, as they will be hoping to duplicate the success that last year’s team was able to have.
