A two vehicle accident in Perry yesterday afternoon resulted in no injuries but did cause significant damage.
According to the Perry Police Department, 67 year-old Willa Kathleen Meinecke of Jamaica, was eastbound on Highway 141 at about 1:30pm yesterday when she attempted to turn north onto 1st Ave behind a semi and another vehicle. During her left turn onto 1st Ave, traffic lights changed from green to red, and she was struck by a westbound vehicle that had received the green light to continue through the intersection.
The driver of the westbound automobile was Summer Dawn Parrott of Carroll.
Neither Dawn nor Meinecke were injured in the crash according to the accident report, and neither we issued citations.
The Perry PD does estimate though that the total damage between the two vehicles to be approximately $14,000.
