Our ADM boys basketball season recap coverage moves along, and today, head coach Aaron Mager has some parting words for his seniors.
The Tigers lose Logan Essy, Robbie Sloss, Grant Goeden and Jackson VerWoert from this year’s team, and while ADM’s record might now show it, Coach Mager says they’re a bunch that will be greatly missed.
“I wish we would have had more wins to verify what I really feel was a successful group of kids, and a group of kids that had really bought in, stayed engaged, and really stand for what we stand for in hard work paying off. The wins don’t say it necessarily–for their career, I think in the two years we only got nine wins in their junior and senior years–but that does not signify or really show an accurate picture or depiction of what those guys have accomplished and the type of kids they are.”
Despite Goeden playing in only five games this season, the four Tiger seniors still combined to produce 47% of their team’s scoring. Essy ended the season as ADM’s leading scorer, averaging 13.9 points per game.
